Hi everyone! My name is Lindsey Huffield and I am one of the Freshman Admissions Counselors! I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Marist College, with a concentration in Human Resources and a minor in Psychology. I am very excited to be back in the college community environment and to guide perspective students through the application and enrollment process. I hope to help you and your families feel more comfortable with the process and ensure you have a place to come for any questions or concerns you may have.
Hometown: Suffern, NY
Favorite College Memory: Going into Marist as a transfer student my sophomore year, I was placed in a freshman dorm. I decided that I may be better off moving into sophomore housing in my second semester in order to be in an environment with more students in my class. Even though I was nervous, being that I was moving out of the dorm with the people I knew best so far and into a dorm with complete strangers, it was a great decision. It became my favorite semester of college as I built great friendships with girls who are some of my closest friends today.
Advice: The best advice I can give is to step out of your comfort zone! Going into the college environment, away from your family and high school friends, can definitely be intimidating and overwhelming. However, keep in mind that everyone is in the same boat as you! So put yourself out there – introduce yourself to someone in your class or join a club that fits your interests, and I promise you will find people equally as eager to find their way as you are.
Hobby: I have been dancing since I was little and my favorite style is tap, which I was thrilled to be able to continue doing when I joined the Dance Ensemble at Marist College.
