Colby Valentine is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice in the Division of Social Sciences. Dr. Valentine received her Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, an M.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from San Diego State University, in San Diego, California, and a B.A. in Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. Dr. Valentine has published in various journals including the Journal of Family Violence and Family Law Review on such topics as officer stress and officer-involved domestic violence. Her current research involves studies of prison misconduct, recidivism, and domestic violence. The courses Dr. Valentine teaches include Introduction to Criminal Justice, Juvenile Justice, and Corrections. Dr. Valentine is also an active member of the American Society of Criminology and the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
