Professor Raab, LCSW, DCSW, is an Assistant Professor of Social Work, Director of Field Education and Director of the Gadol Community Resource Center. She received her B.A. in Social Work from Fairleigh Dickinson University and her M.S.W. from Fordham University School of Social Service and has completed doctoral courses at Columbia University. Professor Raab has been a member of the social work faculty of Dominican College since 1978 and was Director from 1981 through 2011. She joined the faculty after a five-year career as a Senior Public Health Social Worker for the Rockland County Health Department and as the Staff Development Supervisor for the Rockland County Department of Social Services.
In addition, Professor Raab continues to practice as a clinical social worker, consultant in the areas of clinical practice and administration and as a community activist in areas including special education, disability, aging, and immigration. Professor Raab is a licensed clinical social worker with the State of New York and carries a “P” and “R” rating for the practice of psychotherapy. Her ongoing practice experience enriches her teaching.
Her primary curricular area is human behavior and the social environment and social work practice. She is also responsible for a number of social work electives and courses in social justice with a service learning component. Professor Raab serves on a number of community advisory boards and boards of directors.
