This statement of prerequisites is subject to amendment in two respects:
- Writing proficiency is critical in the profession of Occupational Therapy. Dominican College is committed to providing its students with the kind of preparation that will assist them in the program and in their later careers; thus, all students are required to provide an on-site writing sample, in addition to the personal statement in OTCAS, as part of the Program’s admission process. Students must take the Transfer Writing and Math Placement Tests prior to taking any pre-requisites at Dominican College to assess the level of writing proficiency: https://dc.edu/academic-resources/learning-resource-center/placement/. Students may be required to enroll in writing courses or workshops as a result of these processes.
- The Anatomy & Physiology Challenge Examination is required to transfer Anatomy & Physiology I and/or II with grades of B- or higher earned more than five years before applying to Dominican College. The challenge exam may only be repeated once. Students who do not meet the academic standard for the challenge exam will be required to retake BI 223 and BI 224 Anatomy and Physiology I and II. Students with grades lower than B- in BI 223 and BI224 will be required to retake these courses. Note that science prerequisites may only be retaken one time to earn the minimum required grade.
