In this course the dynamics of economic growth and change are explored. Money and banking, wealth, income, employment, inflation, exchange rates, budgetary debts, and other economic fluctuations are examined. The roles of market structures, supply and demand, consumer behavior, and government interventions, particularly in relation to price determination will also be examined.
MB505 Marketing for Managers (3)
In this course, individuals will examine the marketing mix from the perspective of management, with particular attention to how decisions concerning target markets, marketing research, planning, and strategy are accomplished. Attention is given to product development, pricing, promotion, and distribution, as well as the current trends and technologies in marketing.

This course examines how current and emerging technologies are used to support and transform the various functions of an organization. Emphasis is given to how properly configured information systems and new technologies are relied upon to reengineering business processes, provide critical intelligence to business operations, and enable the development of new products and services.

Organizational behavior refers to the dynamics of human relations occurring between individuals and groups within the context of an organizational setting and to how those interactions contribute to, or detract from, the effectiveness of an organization. In this course, attention will be given to the critical and practical aspects of motivation, teamwork, leadership, power, politics, conflict resolution, and organizational culture (Prerequisite: MB502)
MB508 The Global Manager (3)
This course provides individuals with a solid understanding of how practices of management are impacted by the context of the culture within which they take place. Emphasis is given to the strategies and organizational structures that must be created or changed when operating within different competitive, legal, technological, and social environments. Current issues in the globalization of the highly competitive world economy will also be explored.
MB510 Critical Analysis for Professionals (3)
Today’s challenging and dynamic business environment requires, more than ever, the need for managers to explore beneath the surface of issues; challenge ideas; try out new approaches; and seek new viewpoints to solve problems. This course will cover various critical and systems thinking techniques and tools that involves asking questions, examining assumptions, uncovering facts and weighing the validity of arguments. (Course cannot be waived.)

This course provides non-finance professionals a solid understanding of capital budgeting, risk and return on investments, diversification, long and short-term financing, as well as interest rate theory are explored in this course. MB601 Managerial Statistics & Six Sigma (3)
This course provides individuals with an understanding of the various statistical concepts and tools that are used by managers in business within the Six Sigma methodology, including the topics of probability, measures of central tendency, correlations, regression analysis, and analysis of variance. Statistical computer software will be used to enhance the learning experience.
MB602 Decision Making & the Ethical Manager (3)
On an ongoing basis, managers are confronted with decisions requiring ethical awareness. This course explores the various ethical dilemmas confronting and impacting the various organizational stakeholders. Individuals are provided with various ethical frameworks and encouraged to fine tune their own ethical reference points. Case studies are used to appreciate the complexities and impact of ethics in decision making.
MB603 Strategic Management (3)
The methods, problems and issues of strategy formulation and implementation are increasingly relevant in today’s dynamic, complex, and highly competitive environment. This course will focus on the many variables and situational factors that must be dealt with from a total enterprise perspective. The student will be challenged to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to craft and implement the most appropriate strategies. (Prerequisite: MB 502)

The emphasis of this course is the continuous streamlining and reevaluation of the processes and systems that comprise an enterprise’s value chain in order to improve organizational effectiveness, and to successfully compete in a global environment. This first capstone course is the culmination of all previous coursework. Through the extensive use of the business model framework, cases analysis and analyzes of current business events, students will examine how the various dimensions of a business should be integrated in order to provide sustainable competitive advantage in a dynamic and uncertain business environment. MB702 Business Plan Formulation (6)
This second capstone course will have students experience the role of an entrepreneur. Students will develop an entire business plan, including the marketing, promotion, pricing, distribution, and financing arrangements required for a new business initiative taking into account the possible effects of competition, legal regulations, and other external factors. This course will strive to include team-based research in a real-life business venture for a local entrepreneur.
HC630 Long-Term Care Management (3)
This course focuses on the analysis and operation of long-term care organizations and their services in a changing environment. This includes the infrastructure necessary to support, deliver, and monitor care, operational issues such as reimbursement, case mix, compliance, recruitment, retention, supervision of staff, survey management, and other key success factors. This course will also discuss the impact of environmental forces such as regulatory changes and consumer expectations in shaping the nursing home industry and the associated responsibilities of nursing home administrators.
