Dominican College will be hosting “Make A Difference Rockland” on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Hennessy Center at 495 Western Highway, Blauvelt, NY. At the event, about 50 non-profit organizations in the county will showcase what they do and how attendees can get involved. The event is open to the public.
Melissa Grau, Dominican College Director of Community Engagement and Leadership Development, said the event is aimed at residents of many ages – from middle school students through retirees. “This is an opportunity for them to find a non-profit in Rockland County, which they may not have known existed, whether they are looking to earn volunteer hours, learn about donor opportunities, get involved in social justice issues, or become aware of what’s available in terms of cultural experiences,” she said.
“Make a Difference Rockland” had been held at different locations in the County in past years and is being revived after a 5-year hiatus. Grau said the event will now be held annually at Dominican College. For more information, call 845-848-4122.
