On-Line Professional Tutor

(Part-time evenings/weekends—80 hours maximum)

Dominican College seeks a professional to provide tutoring in writing to adult students using digital technology including Adobe Connect and BlackBoard. Responsibilities include providing tutoring services in an individualized setting to assess academic strengths and weaknesses and using the four step process. Conduct workshops/webinars which focus on the instruction of a specific skill or topic and assist students in the use of technology. Make appointments and record daily tutoring sessions. Maintain appropriate records utilizing session notes, logs and the ASC database. Consistently utilize strong verbal and written communication when interacting with students and faculty. Encourage students to utilize the ASC as a resource. Other activities include staff development, curriculum and study aid development, as well as the generation of and participation of marketing and outreach. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director. This is a part-time position that will encompass a maximum of 80 hours.

Qualifications:
Masters degree and some teaching experience required. Excellent organizational, computer, and communications skills. Must be self-directed and goal oriented. Online teaching experience a plus.
