The Criminal Justice Club and Student Activities
are proud to present the 12th Annual
Eastern State Penitentiary Trip
On Friday, September 27, the criminal justice program is visiting Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. It’s our 12th annual visit. About 50 students and faculty will be treated to a one hour interactive tour of the most historic prison in the United States which no longer houses inmates. Eastern State has a rich history that speaks to traditional forms of incarceration and correction methods. The tour guides encourage students to think about how correction and rehabilitation philosophies have changed within the prison system and we spend time discussing the state of mass incarceration today. After the tour, we head to downtown Philadelphia for classic cheesesteaks at the two famous competing cheesesteak stands Pat’s and Geno’s. After dinner, we head back to the prison and enjoy Eastern State’s number one rated haunted house experience. It is truly a remarkable event that we look forward to hosting each and every year. Tickets are $40–DC 1 Card Only.
