Dominican College and Dynamic Productions Partner to Help Communities Impacted by Super Storm Sandy
In response to Super Storm Sandy, Dominican College students, staff, and administration have swung into action. Drives are happening all over campus and a crew of students and staff has been working down in Tom’s River, New Jersey to help with the clean-up and the dissemination of clothing and food.
This weekend, November 10 and 11, one crew of students and staff traveled to the Rockaways and one to Staten Island and New Jersey to help in the recovery efforts in those communities.
Recent alumnus, Jonathan Delgado, Director of Events at Dynamic Productions in Orangeburg, donated gloves and construction masks to the group. He and alumna Carla Gimm, who also works for Dynamic Productions, have worked with the Dynamic Productions to lend the effort shovels, rakes, garbage pails, work tents, tables, chairs, power tools, generators, space heaters, and power cords. Delgado and Gimm worked alongside students and administrators to help people whose homes were damaged by the storm.
Items still needed by those affected by the storm include, but are not limited to: diapers, formula, baby bottles, and adult toiletries.
