Hudson Valley Undergraduate Psychology Conference

Late each Spring semester the College co-hosts an undergraduate psychology conference. Our co-host for the last several years has been The United States Military Academy at West Point. This conference allows students to present original research or theoretical papers. For Dominican College students this is a forum to present research proposed in fall in Experimental Psychology (PS441) and conducted in spring in Senior Seminar (PS472).  Although the research is primarily presented in 15 minute PowerPoint presentations, the conference also sponsors a poster session when possible.

This conference is open for presentations from college undergraduates and some local high schools.  Non-presenting guests are also welcome.  Benefits to students who present at an undergraduate conference include practicing public speaking as well as enhancing one’s curriculum vitae (academic résumé).  Enhancing one’s curriculum vitae is particularly important for students applying to graduate school.
