PT 621 Cardiopulmonary Assessment and Treatment (4)

This course covers the cardiac and pulmonary systems and the pathological conditions of these systems encountered by the physical therapist during patient care. Understanding of ECG, stress testing, pulmonary function tests and clinical laboratory tests in the development of therapeutic programs will be stressed. Emphasis is placed on basic examination of patients, development of therapeutic interventions and understanding of normal and abnormal responses of the cardiopulmonary system to therapeutic exercise. Case studies are integrated throughout the course to foster skills in clinical decision-making.
