CS 441 Introduction to Journalism I (3)
Basics of journalism, with emphasis on writing of news and feature articles. Includes overview of news reporting field, discussion of ethics and pertinent laws, and close attention to principles of news structure and style. Students apply classroom learning in a range of practical assignments, such as conducting interviews and covering meetings, and produce radio news broadcast or can earn bylines in the college/local media.
